I am absolutely fuming about this. Having read the nitty gritty details of this budget I can only presume it is Labour's intention to make working for a living as uneconomically viable as possible. I commute into London each day and thanks to the fare deal with Southeastern I now pay more than 15% of my annual income on just getting to work. Now I'm going to be taxed through the nose thanks to rise in VAT and income tax. On top of that, my wife works in the public sector as a nurse - we both have to work - will effectively be taking a pay cut thanks to this hideous pay freeze that Labour are imposing. We really are getting turned over by this government. What's the point of working? What's the point of trying to do the right thing and set an example for our children when Labour are making it as difficult as possible for us just to make ends meet? We don't have a flash car or telly, we're not going out every night to the pub, but at the end of the month we're still sweating on whether we can meet the mortgage payment. And it's going to get worse. I don't see how we can survive. We desperately need a Conservative government to sort this mess out so can you tell me what you'd do Mark?
